Dave Hyde serves as the Professional Development Coordinator and Parent Liaison for families of children from birth to fourteen years of age. He holds a B.A. in Psychology and has worked at the state library in Oregon, the Colorado Center for the Blind, and has been part of WCBVI since 2003. He has produced classes for teachers, therapists, parents and others, and currently teaches in the Summer EmployAbility program and coordinates the Summer adult program
Dave has been active in organizations of the blind since 1974, and has held offices at the local, state, and national level. He currently serves as First Vice-President of the National Federation of the Blind of Wisconsin and chairs the national committee on library services. Being blind himself due to RoP, Dave has a personal understanding of blindness, and the ways in which people who are blind do things. His interests include traveling, legal matters, civic activities, and advocacy. He lives in Janesville with his wife Nancy and two dogs.
