Kay Rhode

As Orientation and Mobility Consultant for WCBVI, Kay supports the Orientation and Mobility (O&M) instructors in Wisconsin through trainings, site visits, and consultation.
After earning her Master’s degree in O&M from the University of Arkansas, Kay served as an itinerant, independent contractor in southwest Wisconsin for eight years, providing O&M services in five Dane County school districts and throughout CESA 3.
Her earlier career also focused on kids and movement. Kay earned a B.S. in Dance Therapy from UW-Madison and worked at Hancock Center for Movement and Art Therapies in Madison, leading therapeutic groups for children with disabilities.
Kay has served as a recreation leader for juveniles in a fast-track program sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, as an instructor for Ropes Courses, as an education assistant in special education, and as a wife and the mother of two amazing 20-something sons.
