Parent Resources

As parents, families, and caregivers of infants, toddlers, children and young adults who are blind or have low vision, you are critical to their success in life.  The Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WCBVI) offers information, services, and programs to support you and your family.

On-Campus Programs

We offer many on-campus programs, including the Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, which offers summer programs, Braille Olympics, and an academic school-year program available to all students who are blind or have low vision in Wisconsin free of charge through the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).  We also offer a preschool day program called Little PEANUTS on campus.

Statewide Outreach Services

WCBVI offers a variety of programs and services to support families, teachers and students who attend school or programs in their home district.  At the request of schools and other programs, Outreach consultants are able to provide training, evaluations, consultations, and mentoring for new teachers.  Additionally, Outreach staff provide Short Course Programs which focus on intensive instruction in the areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum.
