Goalball

Developed after World War II to assist blinded veterans in remaining physical active, Goalball has evolved into a Paralympic Sport practiced by blind athletes internationally.  Each team is comprised of three players, all fo whom are blindfolded, and must defend their team’s goal.  The ball used is approximately the size of a basketball and made of rubber, but is hollow and contains bells.  This enables players to hear the ball coming at them and to block it from entering the goal area.
