Parents, families, and caregivers are critical to the success of infants, toddlers, children and young adults who are blind and visually impaired. The Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WCBVI) offers information, services, and programs to support you and your family.

WCBVI maintains and supports an email list to provide families, vision professionals, and other community partners with information regarding events, initiatives, and other important updates throughout the state of Wisconsin. Student Programming

Placement at the Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WSBVI)

The WSBVI has both residential and day attendance options. In Wisconsin, the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team determines placement at WSBVI. WSBVI provides access to the K-12 Wisconsin state standards and the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) for students who are blind and visually impaired. WCBVI Outreach Short Courses

WCBVI Outreach team members offer Individual and Group Short Courses with an emphasis on the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC). Programs run for various lengths of time, typically no longer than two weeks.The purpose of Individual Short Courses are not for determining whether WSBVI is a good fit for a student’s educational placement. Statewide Outreach Services

The Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WCBVI) Outreach Services serves as a statewide educational resource relating to visual impairments to benefit all Wisconsin students who are visually impaired. Any stakeholder can request support through the WCBVI Outreach Service Request (OSR).
