The WCBVI Outreach team is seeking to fill two, LTE O&M Instructor positions for EmployAbility, a five-week summer program. Dates for the Summer EmployAbility Program are June 19-30, 2023, followed by a week break, then resuming July 9-28, 2023. This program includes a “pre” weekend to assess student skills related to employment. The dates for this “pre” assessment weekend program are Friday, March 31 through Saturday April 1. You may be wondering, “what is expected of me?”
The first two weeks of the summer program consist of teaching program participants their individual routes to their place of employment, primarily using public transportation in Janesville. This instruction occurs in small group settings. The classes are 90 minutes long, and there are typically three classes a day, Monday through Thursday. Fridays are set aside for community outings. The second part of the program consists of job coaching students, as well as providing remedial O&M instruction. Students are also supported with ongoing O&M instruction to reinforce their individual routes and address needs as they arise. Throughout the program, students can earn “passes” to various places in the community. You would provide instruction for these routes as needed, depending on program timelines and student capabilities.
