Wisconsin Leveled Examples to Support the Evaluation of Teachers of the Blind and Visually Impaired

Purpose of Evaluation

The Wisconsin Educator Effectiveness (EE) System for evaluating teachers and principals is a learning-centered, continuous improvement system designed to improve the education of all students in Wisconsin by supporting guided, individualized, self-determined professional growth and development of educators.

The WI Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WCBVI) and community partners have developed leveled examples that provide more in-depth detail of the professional practices of teachers of the blind and visually impaired (TVI).  These TVI examples, used with the Danielson Framework for Teaching in the evaluation of teachers, can guide meaningful professional growth and feedback for TVIs.

These TVI examples are neither exclusive nor exhaustive, but they are offered as guidance for evaluators and educators. References and resources are also included.

Wisconsin TVI Example Evaluation Process Forms

State model Educator Effectiveness process forms that utilize the TVI examples are available for use starting the 2024-25 school year.

  • Frontline Education platform – Configuration to existing state model sites upon request. These process forms are only available in the growth-focused format. Contact DPI Help Center for Support of Frontline Platform
